The Zoning Administrator is responsible for ensuring that all development within the City of Thomasville meets the City of Thomasville Municipal Code. Some of these regulations include the use of property and development standards, parking requirements, signage, and landscaping. The Zoning Admnistrator also provides support to several citizen committees and commissions and boards, including ARZA Board, Historic Preservation Commission, Planning and Zoning Commission, and Tree and Landscape Committee.
If you are planning to subdivide a parcel, buy a property, build something new, open a new business, install a sign, add a fence, or remove a tree, it is important that you contact the Zoning Administrator in order to make sure that your project is in compliance with the codes reviewed by zoning.
What is Zoning?

Within the City of Thomasville, there are sixteen separate zoning districts. Each district has a unique series of permitted uses. These uses are described in Chapter 22 of the City of Thomasville Municipal Code.
