Twinkling lights, wreaths, and charming storefronts can only mean one thing, the Thomasville holiday season is here! Kick-off the festive season with a day of shopping, dining, and even some prizes at Holiday Open House in Downtown Thomasville on Sunday, November 23 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.
“Holiday Open House is your perfect chance to kick off your Christmas shopping while supporting local businesses and experiencing the unique charm of Downtown Thomasville during the holidays,” said Katie Ketchum, Main Street Director. “The businesses in our downtown have prepared their shops and restaurants to help you usher in this holiday season.”
Complimentary trolley rides, festive holiday music, and fun photo opportunities are also a part of this year’s event. Hop off the trolley for the ultimate holiday snapshot, Santa Claus. Stop in and get your family photo with Santa at the UnVacant Lot located at 217 West Jackson Street.
Guests will have an opportunity to enter an exciting Downtown Dollars giveaway promotion. For every $20 spent shopping and dining during the event hours, participants will receive one entry into a drawing. Five winners will each receive $100 in Downtown Dollars, redeemable at more than 100 shops and restaurants throughout Downtown Thomasville. Information booths will be located along the downtown streets with details on how to enter. Winners will be selected and notified by Monday, November 24.
The delicious aroma from downtown’s many restaurants and eateries is sure to draw you in to enjoy some tasty treats while you’re shopping. “Be sure to savor our renowned restaurants or enjoy a cocktail on a relaxing Sunday afternoon during the event,” said Ketchum. “The festive atmosphere and culinary experience at our local restaurants will certainly ignite your holiday cheer. Whether shopping, dining, or simply sipping and strolling through our Entertainment District, our downtown shops and restaurants truly have something for everyone in the family.”
After the Holiday Open House, mark your calendars for Black Friday on November 28 and Small Business Saturday on November 29. “Thanksgiving weekend is one of the biggest shopping weekends of the year,” said Ketchum. “Black Friday and Small Business Saturday emphasize the importance of supporting our small businesses and shopping locally to boost our community’s economy.”
