RED CROSS MONTH PROCLAMATION

Posted on

Mayor Greg Hobbs presented American Red Cross of South Georgia board members Joyce Thomaston and Mark Harmon with a proclamation recognizing March as American Red Cross Month.

“We are very grateful to Mayor Hobbs for recognizing the work that the Red Cross does within the Thomasville community,” said Terri Jenkins, executive director of the American Red Cross of South Georgia. "We stand ready 24-7 to respond to disaster situations when called upon and the City's support only serves to help us succeed in our mission."

Chartered by Congress to provide immediate direct financial assistance to those in Thomas County who are affected by disaster, the Red Cross relies upon the community to help us deliver our mission.

“We rely heavily on contributions and volunteers, so we’re always searching for volunteers,” Jenkins said. “Anyone who would like more information on how they can help out the American Red Cross of South Georgia can call our office at 226-2181.”
