TEMPORARY LANE CLOSURES ON SMITH AVENUE

Contractors will begin constructing stormwater catch basins on both sides of Smith Avenue to improve drainage at the Dawson Street intersection. Both the East and West bound outside lanes will be closed in order to provide a safe zone for the construction workers. TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE ON SMITH AVENUE

Contractors are scheduled to begin work on Smith Avenue Monday, March 21, depending on weather conditions, to upgrade the stormwater drainage system. Work is expected to be completed in one night from 10:00 pm to 6:00 am. A road closure will be necessary in order to provide a safe zone for road work and to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. LANE CLOSURE FOR SMITH AVENUE NEAR DAWSON STREET INTERSECTION

Contractors plan to close the eastbound lane of Smith Avenue near the intersection of Dawson Street beginning Tuesday, March 8 to construct a catch basin to improve drainage at the intersection. The work is scheduled between the hours of 8:00 am and 6:00 pm and is expected to last ten days. City of Thomasville Utility crews are scheduled to begin work along Smith Avenue beginning Tuesday, April 13th. There will be a temporary lane closure on Smith Avenue at the Bennett Street intersection while crews replace a water service line.
