MAGNOLIA STREET OPEN AT ROUNDABOUT ON SOUTH PINETREE BOULEVARD

Posted on

Magnolia Street at the South Pinetree Boulevard roundabout has opened for both northbound and southbound traffic. Crews have completed the installation of new traffic signage approaching the roundabout advising motorists and pedestrians of yield locations, directional arrows, pedestrian crossings, and speed limits.

Motorists approaching the roundabout are advised to slow down and observe advisory speed limits. When entering the roundabout, yield to traffic already in the circle, look left for oncoming traffic and enter when there is a safe distance in the circulating traffic. While inside the roundabout, motorists should always drive counter-clockwise and should not stop. Vehicles inside the roundabout always have the right of way.

According to City Engineer Todd Powell, the final phases of the South Pinetree Boulevard improvement project will not require additional complete road closures along the corridor. “The upcoming phases of the project include milling of distressed asphalt, resurfacing the corridor from West Jackson Street to Old Monticello Road, shoulder building, placement of reflective pavement markings, and striping of both the roadway and roundabout,” said Powell. “We anticipate these projects to be completed using single-lane closures and flagmen.”
