Christmas in Thomasville will feature a newcomer to the Thomasville holiday season when downtown Thomasville welcomes families for an unforgettable Holiday Family Movie Night on Saturday, December 11th beginning at 6:30 p.m. Families will be treated to a modern holiday classic when Elf hits the big screen at The Ritz Amphitheater for what is sure to be a magical evening.

“We are excited to welcome our family movie night featuring everyone’s favorite modern-day Christmas classic, Elf to the Christmas in Thomasville schedule of events,” said Madison Eaton, Special Events Coordinator. “The Ritz Amphitheater will serve as the backdrop for an evening of families nestled in their favorite blankets experiencing what will soon become another cherished holiday event for our community”

Holiday movies are not complete without a vast array of sweets and the Holiday Family Movie Night is no exception, with plenty of opportunities for movie-goers to feed their cravings. “Guests can satisfy their holiday sweet tooth at one of the food vendors that will be onsite at the Ritz,” said Eaton. “Burg Cookie Co, Sweet Cacao Chocolates, and The Juice Box will be onsite with their creative menus of goodies. It’s going to be a fun-filled, exciting evening.”

In addition to the family-friendly movie event, guests can enjoy extended shopping and dining hours during the Holiday Sip & Shop from 6 p.m. – 10 p.m. “Enjoy holiday music throughout Downtown Thomasville, photo opportunities, shopping, and dining during another evening of holiday enchantment,” said Christy Owens, Main Street & Special Events Manager. “Adults can grab their favorite beer or wine from a participating downtown merchant and enjoy sipping and shopping throughout Downtown Thomasville.”

“A cool winter evening of ‘Buddy the Elf’ teaching us that ‘the best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear’ is sure to continue raising everyone’s holiday spirit,” said Eaton. “Whether watching as a family or with friends, be sure to grab your blanket or chair for an evening full of laughter. Our Christmas in Thomasville holiday schedule has something for everyone, and we are excited to add this fun, festive, family event for our community to enjoy.”

The Holiday Movie Night is free and no tickets are required for admission. For more information about Christmas in Thomasville, Holiday Family Movie Night, and a complete listing of events, please visit downtownthomasville.com or call the Thomasville Visitors Center at 229-228-7977.
