#FALLINLOVEWITHTVILLE CAMPAIGN STARTS TODAY Article PhotoFall is approaching, and with the change in seasons, Thomasville will soon welcome visitors from all over. What better way to celebrate the beauty of fall than to capture it in photos and share with friends. With that goal in mind, the Thomasville Visitors Center is unveiling a new social media campaign, #fallinlovewithtville, which allows visitors and residents to share their fall photos of Thomasville, vote on their favorites and win great prize packages.

The City of Thomasville tourism office is rolling out a new “#fallinlovewithtville” campaign on Monday, September 24, 2018, and will be open for photo submissions through midnight October 22, 2018. The rules of the campaign are simple: all photos must be original and taken within Thomasville and Thomas County. Additionally, each photo must be tagged with the hashtag #fallinlovewithtville on Instagram or Facebook prior to the closing date. Finally, all participants must be 16 years of age or older and live in the United States to submit photos.

“This campaign is a fun way to explore our community, take photos of what you love most, then post to social media, letting others see what our city and county offer,” says Bonnie Hayes, tourism director for the City of Thomasville. “So many people share their daily lives across a range of social media platforms, and we want to meet them where they are, giving them a chance to express themselves. The bonus is the chance to win prizes for their posts.”

Hayes says that the winning posts will be honed from all the entries to a top ten of the best submitted photos. “From there, the public will have the chance to vote for their favorite, giving the ones with the most votes the top prizes,” says Hayes. “Regardless of whether you have submitted an image, you will have the chance to vote for the photo you think showcases Thomasville via the Visitors Center’s Instagram account @thomasvillega or on Facebook at facebook.com/visitthomasville. We want everyone to join in the fun and help us choose the best images of our community.”

Several downtown Thomasville businesses and local attractions are donating prizes for the contest. There is an assortment of gift items, food and beverages, guided tours, Downtown Dollars and more. Prizes will be awarded for first, second, and third place. The prize categories as well as the rules and how to participate are available on the Visitors Center website at thomasvillega.com.

“Thomasville is a unique destination, with a story that is like no other. We want to give visitors and locals the chance to tell their story through pictures, and give us the chance to see Thomasville through their eyes,” says Hayes.

The winning submissions will be announced at the First Friday Sip & Stroll concert at the Ritz Amphitheater on Nov. 2nd. Winners will not need to be present to win. For more information, visit the website at thomasvillega.com or call the Visitors Center at (229) 228-7977.
