OWENS EARNS NATIONAL PARK AND RECREATION CERTIFICATION

Mike Owens, Manager of Parks/Recreation and Golf for the City of Thomasville, recently received certification through the National Recreation and Park Association as a Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP).

The CPRP certification is granted to individuals employed in the recreation and park resources services professions who meet the eligibility requirements—including a combination of higher education and work experience – and who successfully complete the national CPRP examination. The examination tests knowledge in all aspects of general administration, programming, and operations management for parks and recreation.

The CPRP is universally understood and respected in the park and recreation industry across the country for professionals at the forefront of their profession.

Owens holds a Bachelor of Science in Recreation and Sports Management and a minor in Business from Auburn University and is also a certified Class A PGA Professional through the PGA of America.
