Chris White, the Interim City Manager of the City of Thomasville, has been appointed to serve on the Board of Directors for the Municipal Gas Authority of Georgia (MGAG). The MGAG's Board of Directors consists of representatives from over 100 cities located throughout the southeastern United States.

White expressed his appreciation for being chosen to represent the City of Thomasville stating, "Serving on the Board gives me the opportunity to work alongside a highly regarded group of utility professionals to support the significant business practices of our member cities."

The Municipal Gas Authority of Georgia is the largest non-profit natural gas joint-action agency in the United States, committed to providing municipalities with a reliable, economical supply of natural gas and assisting them in developing and growing their gas systems to optimize the benefits of public ownership.

White praised the organization stating, "MGAG has an impressive reputation built on the foundation of service to its members and a staff that is truly the best of the best as experts in their respective fields. They are an outstanding team of professionals dedicated to serving our members in growing natural gas sales through initiatives focused on residential, commercial, agricultural, and industrial markets."

This appointment comes as no surprise to the City of Thomasville as White also serves as Vice-Chairman for the Board of Directors for Electric Cities of Georgia, a non-profit organization that provides strategic and technical services to 52 public power communities with utility operations.

City of Thomasville Mayor Todd Mobley praised White stating, "We are proud of Chris's continued opportunity to serve within the state and all of his professional achievements he brings to our organization."
