WHITE NAMED THOMASVILLE’S CITY MANAGER

The Thomasville City Council has named Chris White as City Manager, effective immediately. White has served as an Interim City Manager for the City of Thomasville since February 2024 and as Assistant City Manager since August 2021. The announcement was made during Monday night’s meeting of the Thomasville City Council.


White has dedicatedly served the citizens of Thomasville and the State of Georgia for more 27 years in multiple areas of municipal operations. His experience has included significant decision-making roles in city utilities, telecommunications, and technology operations. He is actively involved in various professional organizations and boards, including appointments to the Board of Directors for the Electric Cities of Georgia (ECG) and Municipal Gas Authority of Georgia (MGAG). In addition, White has also served on the Senate Committee for Advanced Communications Technologies and Use of State and Local Government Right of Way Policy Modernization.

"This organization has supported my professional growth and development throughout my career, and I am eager to tackle the new challenges and opportunities that come with this leadership position. “Chris has performed an outstanding job for our community, both throughout his career and more recently in his interim role,” said Mayor Todd Mobley. “The decision to name Chris to this role was unanimous, and we are very appreciative of his service. Our community is in good hands under his leadership, and we look forward to what he will accomplish as our City Manager.”


As White steps into this role, the City of Thomasville will continue to operate with the leadership assistance of Assistant City Manager Sheryl Sealy and Chief Financial Officer Ashley Cason, collaborating on Thomasville's future infrastructure, housing and development, and economic needs. “The Thomasville City Council, together with Chris, Sheryl and Ashley, have outlined a strategic plan that is aimed at moving our community forward in many key areas that are important to our citizens,” said Mayor Mobley. “We are well positioned for our future, and their leadership is pivotal in helping us continue to move forward.”
