Thomasville Fire Rescue hosted a pinning ceremony on March 31 to welcome new firefighters. The event was held at The Ritz Amphitheater.
Badge pining marks the beginning of a career for new firefighters, and five recruits were welcomed to the department. They include Dontaevia Johnson, Stevan Thornton, Kasi Cross, Charity Williams, and Victoria Coleman. Family members assisted in the presentation and pinning of official badges.
The ceremony also served as a historic event as four of the new firefighters are women, the most to ever be a part of Thomasville Fire Rescue.
