The City of Thomasville’s Community Relations team will be hosting their annual Fall Xtravaganza on Saturday, November 17th from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in Thomasville’s Paradise Park.

“This is our third year of fall fun, and we’re excited for what we have planned for the community,” said Kha McDonald, Interim City Manager, “From face-painting and pony rides to fire safety demonstrations and checking out our local National Guard’s Humvee, we’ve got something for everyone.”

The Fall Xtravaganza, which is sponsored by the City of Thomasville’s Community Relations team, will also offer free games for all ages and concessions for sale on site, with proceeds benefitting local children’s programs. “This is a perfect opportunity to come and enjoy time with our community in one of Thomasville’s most historic and beautiful parks,” said McDonald.

There will also be opportunities for participants to enjoy police simulators, a K-9 demonstration and blood pressure readings with Thomasville Police Department and Thomasville Fire Rescue.

“Thomasville Police Department is excited to help bring this event to our citizens,” said TPD Assistant Chief Eric Hampton. “It gives us an opportunity to have some fun along with providing an educational experience.”

Hampton said it’s through events such as the Fall Xtravaganza that allows TPD to build valuable relationships with the Thomasville community. “We always have a great time at the Fall Xtravaganza playing games with the kids. Events such as this are the perfect opportunity to get to know our youth better while building the trusting relationships, which are essential in helping us to better serve our community.”

The Fall Xtravaganza is free and open to the public. For more information, please call 227-7001.
