The one-way section of South Stevens Street, from West Jackson Street to Remington Avenue will be closed to vehicular traffic starting Monday, March 20, 2017 for complete re-construction. The roadway will be reconstructed with sidewalk, curb and gutter, and new asphalt paving. It is expected to take at least three weeks to complete this construction. During this period, motorists should plan other routes to their destinations.
“We recognize the inconvenience a full road closure poses to both the traveling public and businesses along this segment of South Stevens Street,” said Wayne Newsome, Assistant City Engineer. “Every effort will be made to minimize the impact of this construction.”
