WORK ON BROAD STREET CONTINUES

On Monday, July 11, 2016, the City will continue the project to improve the portion of Broad Street between Remington Avenue and Smith Avenue. Phase 1 of the project involved uncovering the historic brick pavers on this section of Broad Street. The next phase of the project will involve improving the curb and gutter in this area. REMINGTON AVENUE DETOUR

Remington Avenue at Stevens Street will be closed to all traffic on June 22 for water infrastructure improvements. Work is expected to be completed by day's end. Citizens are advised to expect delays when traveling through the area and to plan alternate routes.



GEORGIA DCA AWARDS HALF A MILLION DOLLARS TO THOMASVILLE

The Georgia Department of Community Affairs has awarded $612,000 in grant-funding to Thomasville in order to build new, single family homes and help homeowners rehabilitate existing homes. The Jackson Street-Stevens Street intersection will be closed to thru-traffic beginning June 7; however, inclement weather may delay the start of construction.
