The City of Thomasville’s Community Relations team is adding a new city-wide activity to their list of community projects for families to enjoy. Mark your calendars and plan to bring the family for a day of fun at the Fall Xtravaganza, Saturday, November 12th from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in Thomasville’s Paradise Park.
“We always have a great turnout for our spring Easter Eggstravaganza event, so it was an easy decision for our Community Relations team to offer a fall event that will be just as much fun for the whole family,” said Kha McDonald, Senior Assistant City Manager. “From face painting to a big checker board set, we’ll have something for everyone.”
The Fall Xtravaganza, which is sponsored by the City of Thomasville’s Community Relations team, will give participants an opportunity to challenge a police officer to a game of one-on-one or enjoy the bounce house, slide or rock climbing wall.
“There’ll be lots of activities like police simulators, a K-9 demonstration, blood pressure readings by Thomasville Fire Rescue, music, corn hole, and so much more,” said McDonald.
“Our Community Relations team is very excited to host a fall event for our citizens that will give us an opportunity to have some fun along with providing an educational experience,” said Major Eric Hampton. “We always have a great time playing games with the kids and getting to know them better. This is another way for us to create relationships and build trust.”
As an added treat, the local Army National Guard will be on hand with one of their Army vehicles for people to explore.
“Our goal is to have an event that offers something for everyone in your family,” said Hampton. “Getting out in the community and building relationships while we have fun is what it’s all about.”
Fall Xtravaganza is free and open to the public. Concessions will be for sale on site, with proceeds to benefit local programs for kids. For more information, please call 227-7001.
