The City of Thomasville’s Community Relations team is once again bringing the fun to fall with Fall Xtravaganza. This year’s event will be held Saturday, November 4th from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in Thomasville’s Paradise Park.
“Debuting last year, Fall Xtravaganza is a fun-filled day that we are excited to host once again,” said Kha McDonald, Senior Assistant City Manager. “From face-painting to games for all ages, this event is perfect to get out in one of our beautiful parks to enjoy a great time with your community.”
The Fall Xtravaganza, which is sponsored by the City of Thomasville’s Community Relations team, will give participants an opportunity to challenge a police officer to a game of one-on-one or enjoy the bounce house, slide or rock climbing wall. Activities will also include police simulators, a K-9 demonstration, blood pressure readings by Thomasville Fire Rescue, music, corn hole, and more.
“Thomasville Police Department is excited to help bring this event to our citizens,” said Major Eric Hampton. “It gives us an opportunity to have some fun along with providing an educational experience.”
Hampton said it is through events such as Fall Xtravaganza that TPD can build valuable relationships with the Thomasville community. “Getting out in the community and building relationships while we have fun is what it’s all about. We always have a great time playing games with the kids at events such as this. It helps us to get to know our youth better and build trust, which is essential in helping us to better serve our community.”
Fall Xtravaganza is free and open to the public. Concessions will be for sale on site, with proceeds benefitting local programs for kids. For more information, please call 227-7001.
