The City of Thomasville’s First Friday Sip & Shop series continues on June 3 from 6-10 pm, including entertainment for the entire family. Extended shopping and dining hours, live music, food trucks, and performances by Off Broadstreet Centre for the Arts and The FIRM Dance Company will create the perfect night in Downtown Thomasville.
“Children are out of school for the summer, and families are looking for free, fun things to do,” mentioned Madison Eaton, the City of Thomasville’s Tourism and Events Manager. “This event is the perfect weekend outing for your entire family to enjoy.”
Beginning at 6 pm, guests can enjoy shopping and dining throughout Downtown Thomasville. Adults 21 years of age and older can pick-up a free armband from a participating business and enjoy an adult beverage while sipping and shopping. Food trucks will also be set up around The Ritz Amphitheater from 6-10 pm.
This month’s free concert will feature Nashville-based band Juke of June at The Ritz Amphitheater from 8-10 pm. This six-member band is influenced by 70’s rock, playing original sounds and covers from reggae to soul.
Before the concert begins, members of Off Broadstreet Centre for the Arts and The FIRM Dance Company will perform numbers from their “Once Upon a Dream” and “Kaleidoscope” productions. Performances will begin at 7:30 pm.
First Friday Sip & Shop events are a collaboration between the Thomasville Main Street office, Downtown merchants, and the Main Street Advisory Board. “Supporting our local businesses is our priority, and these events create a strong economic base for our community,” noted Eaton. “If you’ve never attended one of our First Friday events, this will be a great one to enjoy.”
