In partnership with the Keep Georgia Beautiful Foundation, Keep Thomas County Beautiful, and the City of Thomasville, residents can once again help beautify their community when they ‘Bring One for the Chipper’ on Saturday, January 6, 2018 from 9 am – 1 pm.
“This year marks our 26th year of Treecycling in Georgia,” said Solid Waste Director Nate Tyler. “The Bring One for the Chipper program allows Christmas trees to be recycled into mulch that can then be used in playgrounds, parks and other greenspaces throughout our community.”
Trees will be accepted beginning December 26th. “No matter how early you undecorated your home for the holidays, you can still dispose of the tree at the West Remington Ave. Recycling Center,” said Tyler. The Recycling Center is located across from the Boys and Girls Club at the corner of Remington and Stevens Street.
All trees must be unbound and free of decorations. “In exchange for dropping off your tree, you will receive a free redbud, dogwood or white oak sapling while supplies last,” said Tyler.
