The City of Thomasville’s Tourism Manager, Mary Patchunka-Smith, has been honored as the 2024 “ROOKIE OF THE YEAR” by the Alabama, Georgia, and South-Central Motorcoach Associations. The award was selected based on best representation by a company, destination, attraction, and/or property that made the most impressionable effort to get their information to operator members.
The Motorcoach Associations held their regional association conference at the Hotel Capstone in Tuscaloosa, Alabama on July 21 – 24, 2024. Over 175+ attendees from around the nation attended the four-day conference. The Associations hold a regional annual meeting and marketplace where all members come together for information sharing and selling destinations for group bus tours.
“Mary’s commitment to seeing Georgia’s tourism communities come to life makes her the perfect candidate to be selected as ‘Rookie of the Year,’” said April Norton, Managing Director of Marketing & Communications for the City of Thomasville. “We are proud of Mary’s work in Thomasville and look forward to seeing the economic impact this experience has on Thomasville’s program as she continues to grow as a leader for Thomasville’s tourism.”
