CITY OF THOMASVILLE CELEBRATES PUBLIC POWER WEEK, CUSTOMER SERVICE WEEK, AND PUBLIC NATURAL GAS WEEK

Posted on

The City of Thomasville will celebrate Public Power Week, Public Natural Gas Week, and Customer Service Week from October 6-12. These events aim to honor the benefits of local utilities and highlight customer service and the dedicated staff providing essential services to the community.

Public Natural Gas Week educates about the benefits of public natural gas utilities. It is an annual nationwide event for communities to give recognition to one of their most valuable community assets - their publicly owned natural gas utility. In the United States, there are around 1,000 public natural gas utilities that have a significant impact on the communities they serve by providing clean, affordable, and efficient natural gas.

Public Power Week is a celebration of electric utility companies that proudly serve the electric power needs of about 40 million Americans. Every public power system is different, but they all share the common purpose of providing reliable and adequate electricity.

The City of Thomasville will also recognize Customer Service Week by celebrating staff and customers. City customers are invited to visit the Administration Building, located at 111 Victoria Place, for the following events:

Monday, October 7
1-3 pm: “Meet and Greet” with Customer Service staff with prizes and giveaways
2-4 pm: Free slushies

Tuesday, October 8 - Friday, October 11
10 am - 1 pm: “Meet and Greet” with Customer Service staff with prizes and giveaways
