ROAD CLOSURES ANNOUNCED Article PhotoThe City of Thomasville has announced various road closures due to construction projects:

Tuxedo Drive: The City of Thomasville’s Public Works Department has closed Tuxedo Drive to thru traffic at the culvert crossing located approximately 250’ east of Parkway Drive. This closure is necessary to maintain the safety of the traveling public, as the drainage culverts at this location are in need of repair. This roadway will remain closed until the culvert replacement is completed, which is targeted to begin in November 2017. Traffic with destinations impacted by this closure will need to access Tuxedo Drive via Nottingham Drive.

East Jackson Street: Beginning Monday, October 16, 2017, traffic on East Jackson Street will be reduced to one lane in each direction, between Belmont Drive and Vashti Avenue. This temporary lane closure is necessary in order to repair a section of the westbound roadway between Belmont Drive and Euclid Drive that was damaged as a result of a water line break. The City will make every effort to complete these repairs in the same day so that normal roadway traffic flow can resume on Tuesday, October 17, 2017.

“We recognize the inconvenience that road closures pose to both the traveling public and businesses along these sections of roadway,” said Wayne Newsome, Assistant City Engineer. “Every effort will be made to reopen these streets as quickly as possible.”
