Utility Work on Remington Avenue begins Monday, June 11, 2018

THOMASVILLE, GA – June 5, 2018 – The City of Thomasville Utilities will be conducting utility infrastructure upgrades on Remington Avenue beginning Monday, June 11, 2018. The utility work will include the replacement of a sanitary sewer main as well as the replacement of a water main. Work will begin at 7:00 a.m. on Monday and continue until Tuesday, June 12th at 5:00 p.m.

During this time, Remington Avenue will be closed to thru traffic from West Jackson Street to Fletcher Street. Westbound thru traffic on Remington Avenue will be detoured onto Fletcher Street, while Remington Avenue eastbound will be accessed via South Madison Street. Local traffic will be accommodated to the maximum extent possible during this time.

“We understand road closures can be an inconvenience to our community, but we will work as quickly and as safely as possible to reopen Remington Avenue,” said City Engineer Wayne Newsome.
