Let Discuss flyerAs fall and winter arrive, the cooler temperatures will soon follow. With this in mind, the City of Thomasville will host “Let’s Discuss…Ways to Save On Your Utility Bill” on Tuesday, October 29th at 6:00 pm at the Municipal Building located at 144 E. Jackson St. Organizers say that this session will provide the community with useful and practical tips to save energy and reduce utility costs. Attendees will also learn how to calculate their monthly utility statement.

“Most of these tips can be implemented with little, if any, costs associated,” said Sherri Nix, Public Outreach Manager. Nix said that the “Let’s Discuss…” event will also focus on ways to make homes more energy efficient. “The City of Thomasville offers free energy audits to our customers, so we will be sharing information about this service as well as the many other services and programs the City provides to help lower energy consumption,” said Nix.

Information on the City’s Natural Gas Rebate Program will be also be discussed along with details on no interest financing options for new EnergyStar appliances, central heating and air conditioning equipment and other changes that can help reduce energy costs. In addition to learning ways to save on their monthly utility bill, participants will also learn how to calculate their monthly utility statement.

The ‘Let’s Discuss…’ series allows the City of Thomasville to share important or complex information with our community in an environment that supports open dialog. The sessions are held throughout the year. The next ‘Let’s Discuss…Making “CENTS” of SPLOST’ will be held in November.
