Posted on

During the regular meeting of the Thomasville City Council on Tuesday, November 12th, a proclamation signed by Mayor Greg Hobbs was presented that declared November 3rd, 2019, as Retired Educators Day. The proclamation was presented by Councilmember Todd Mobley.

Retired Educators Day recognizes the lasting contributions of our retired educators to the educational development of our children. There are more than 130,000 retired educators in the state of Georgia, of which 28,000 are a part of the Georgia Retired Educators Association (GREA). Several retired educators reside in the City of Thomasville and contribute thousands of hours to volunteer service. Their dedication to education and the community are invaluable.
