An improvement project for Cherokee Lake Park is well underway, and City officials report that while the lake continues to drain, citizens are cautioned to limit their usage to the portions of the park that remain open. North Stevens Street between West Jackson Street and West Jefferson Street will be closed to thru traffic, beginning Monday, July 24, to replace an aging clay sewer main in the street. Customers between the 900-1300 blocks of East Jackson Street may be experiencing low water pressure. Crews are currently working to repair a water main break at East Jackson Street and Belmont Drive.
