Posted on

A howlin’ good time awaits the furriest residents of Thomasville when City of Thomasville Community Relations, in partnership with Thomas County Humane Society, kicks off the eleventh annual Howl-O-Ween celebration at the Thomasville Dog Park on Saturday, October 27, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This unique park is located on South Pinetree Boulevard, across from the Southwestern State Hospital campus.

This year’s celebration will include the popular doggie and me costume and tricks contest at 12:30 p.m. Other exciting events include the boo-tiful pet parade and an agility course for our furry friends. There will also be face painting, music and “doggy and me” family photographs.

“We will also have obedience training demonstrations from Bark Busters, and treats and safety tips from the Thomasville Police Department and Thomasville Fire Rescue,” said Kha McDonald, Interim City Manager. “It’s a wonderful way to spend an afternoon in one of our community’s lovely parks.”

The Thomas County Humane Society will be on site with dogs available for adoption during the event. There will also be a photo booth for pets and humans alike.

Howl-O-Ween is free and open to the public. All dogs must be at least six months old and be current on all shots and vaccinations to use the City of Thomasville Dog Park. For more information about Howl-O-Ween, call 227-7001.
