Due to a fire in the area, West Jackson Street between College Street and MLK Drive is currently closed. Detours are in place. Thomasville Fire Rescue and multiple agencies are in defense mode actively fighting this fire. If anyone needs to seek temporary shelter due to the large amount of smoke in the area from the fire, visit Worldwide Ministries of Christ Church at 1112 Lester Street. There’s breakfast and volunteers on site to help those in need. Red Cross is currently working on a shelter plan. Updates will be provided throughout the day on our Facebook page.
