THOMASVILLE MAIN STREET RECOGNIZED AS GEORGIA MAIN STREET OF THE MONTH

Posted on

Thomasville’s Main Street Program has been recognized as the Georgia Main Street Program of the Month by the Georgia Main Street Association. This comes on the heels of Thomasville’s recent designation as an Accredited Main Street America™ program for meeting rigorous state performance standards.

“We’re always excited when our program is recognized across the state,” noted Main Street Manager Brandy Avery. “We’re fortunate to have so many committed merchants and City of Thomasville departments that work with us to make Downtown Thomasville the best it can be for our community and a destination that visitors want to visit and support.”

The Georgia Main Street Association selects a program each month to highlight and celebrate their achievements. Thomasville Main Street continues to be one of the most successful programs in Georgia, established as a Main Street city in 1981. Since that time, Downtown Thomasville has experienced a net gain of 351 businesses and over 1,300 jobs, with over $153 million in public and private reinvestment.
