WHERE ROSES REIGN…MELODIES BLOOM AT THIS YEAR’S ROSE SHOW & FESTIVAL

Posted on

An array of beautiful roses and flower shows, a parade and street dance, an artisan market, and more are included in the 103rd Annual Thomasville Rose Show & Festival April 26-27. This year’s theme has just been announced, and applications are available for many of the activities taking place during this fun-filled community event.

“We hope this year’s theme of ‘Where Roses Reign…Melodies Bloom’ inspires imagination and brings to life our Rose Show and Festival in new and creative ways,” said Brandy Avery, City of Thomasville’s Main Street Director.

This year’s Rose Parade will be held April 26 at 7:00 pm, and applications are currently being accepted. A Queen’s Award of $300 will be awarded to the best overall parade entry. A $200 King’s Award will be awarded for the best use of the theme, and a $200 Rose Bud Award will be handed to the best children’s entry. The application deadline is April 5.

Applications are also currently being accepted for food and artisan vendors at this year’s Rose Fest Market. Held April 27 from 10 am-4 pm, this event features handcrafted artisans and makers, food trucks, music, children’s activities, and fun throughout the afternoon.

The adored traditional events of the Rose Show & Festival, including multiple displays of locally grown roses, orchids and flowers, the Show & Shine Car & Truck Show, and the Street Dance, will be returning for this two-day event in the heart of Thomasville. Other ways to enjoy the rose-themed festivities include larger-than-life photo opportunities, hand-painted signs lining the paved downtown streets, and participating downtown bars and restaurants that have masterfully created unique dishes, drinks, or desserts featuring the flavor of roses. Roses in Restaurants is only held once a year during the Rose Show and Festival, so don’t miss out.

“The Rose Festival is the perfect outdoor setting for family fun in the springtime,” noted Avery. “Join us for an entire weekend to experience Thomasville’s beautiful history on exhibition.”
