The HR staff provides personnel services to employees and applicants through recruitment, staffing, organizational and employee development, training, policy development and implementation, compensation, performance evaluation, employee events and employee relations. The HR staff has affiliations with the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM), the Georgia Local Government Personnel Association (GLGPA) and the International Personnel Management Association (IPMA).
The staff works with the Thomasville Police Department and Thomasville Fire Rescue to coordinate several neighborhood and community events throughout the year to promote goodwill and community engagement.
Risk Management & Self Insurance
Risk Management is responsible for administering the City’s Wellness program, Worker’s Comp, Property and Liability Insurance, Safety Training, and Benefits Administration for its employees.
