CITY OF THOMASVILLE CONTINUES TRADITION OF COMMUNITY SUPPORT THROUGH PROJECT SHARE

Posted on

Thomasville has a history of collaborating with local organizations to provide community support during times of need. Through a continued collaboration with the Salvation Army of Thomasville, you can support those in need in our community through the Project SHARE program.

City of Thomasville Utilities customers can add a charitable contribution to their monthly utility bills. Collected funds are provided to the Salvation Army of Thomasville to help those in our community that need assistance such as aid in paying for utilities, housing, or prescription medications.

“Our collaboration with the Salvation Army reflects the hearts of our customers,” stated Mark Parrillo, Managing Director of Customer Service. “Project SHARE allows our customers to support our local community with basic necessities during unexpected circumstances.”

Project SHARE began in 1985 as a statewide partnership between the Salvation Army and power companies in Georgia to provide emergency needs such as shelter, medical needs, and utility payments. Money collected stays in the county from which it originates, so the donations go to work in the local community. The City of Thomasville’s partnership with the Salvation Army of Thomasville began in 2010. To date, over $126,000 has been disbursed locally.

Customers interested in participating in Project SHARE can complete a contribution form online at Thomasville.org/ProjectShare or contact the City of Thomasville’s Customer Care team at (229) 227-7001.
