With wreaths hung on lamp posts, garland decorating each storefront, and cooler weather here to stay, Thomasville is in the Christmas spirit! Join us in historic Downtown Thomasville for the 33rd Annual Victorian Christmas, Thursday and Friday, December 12th and 13th from 6:00-9:00 p.m. each evening.
“This is our largest Victorian Christmas to date,” said Madison Eaton, City of Thomasville events coordinator. “With the beautiful new streetscape project completed on West Jackson Street just in time for this event, we are expanding food vendors, musicians and merchant participation into the West Jackson and Ritz Amphitheater area. We are excited to showcase not only the new additions, but also many familiar favorites as well in this area and throughout the entire event.”
Victorian Christmas will host dozens of food vendors spread throughout the downtown with cuisines ranging from hearty stews and tacos to funnel cakes and homemade chocolate fudge. An after dinner stroll will take you through the many world-class shopping options available in downtown.
“There are many exciting changes to the programming this year to keep visitors and locals engaged,” said Eaton. “Of these changes, the most anticipated is St. Nick moving to the big stage of The Ritz Amphitheater. This new location offers a better photo opportunity and a more enjoyable wait time experience, with entertainment and activities available to those awaiting their time with St. Nick.”
On your way to see St. Nick, stop by to see another delightful addition: live reindeer! Live reindeer from Pettit Creek Farms in North Georgia will be on display for photo opportunities for children and excited parents alike. The Live Nativity (located on Jefferson Street) is a not-to-be-missed program put on by First Baptist Church that features talented actors and additional live animals. Throughout both evenings, leisurely horse-and-carriage rides will also be offered to transport you back into Victorian times. Experience entertaining performances by local and regional dance and choral groups both nights of Victorian Christmas from the seats of the municipal building auditorium, located at 144 E. Jackson Street.
The 33rd annual Victorian Christmas is free and no tickets are required for admission. Join us in Downtown Thomasville on Thursday and Friday, December 12th and 13th from 6:00-9:00 p.m. both nights.
