As spring and summer arrive, the warmer temperatures follow. With this in mind, the City of Thomasville will host “Let’s Discuss…Ways to Save On Your Utility Bill and How to Have an Energy Efficient Home.” Organizers say that this session will provide the community with useful and practical tips to save energy and reduce utility costs.
“Most of these tips can be implemented with little, if any, costs associated,” said Sherri Nix, Public Outreach Manager. “We’ve hosted sessions related to utility costs in the past, and by far the most popular portion of those events has been the discussion we have about the little changes that can be made to reduce monthly utility costs.”
Nix said that the “Let’s Discuss…” event will also focus on ways to make homes more energy efficient. “The City of Thomasville offers free energy audits to our customers, so we will be sharing information about this service as well as the many other services and programs we provide to help lower energy consumption,” said Nix. “Information on the City’s Natural Gas Rebate Program will be also be discussed, and we will share details on low interest financing options for new EnergyStar appliances, central heating and air conditioning equipment and other changes that can really help reduce energy costs.”
“Let’s Discuss…” will be held on Thursday, March 28 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at the Municipal Building located at 144 E. Jackson St. The “Let’s Discuss…” series will continue throughout the year with topics including City projects, economic development and SPLOST.
