CITY OF THOMASVILLE TO HOLD COMMUNITY HOME INVESTMENT PROGRAM (CHIP) HOUSING REHABILITATION PUBLIC MEETING

The City of Thomasville has been awarded a $300,000 Community HOME Investment Program (CHIP) Grant from the Georgia Department of Community Affairs. A public meeting for housing rehabilitation will be held on Thursday, August 15th that will help identify homeowners in the target area that are eligible to receive assistance. The target area includes the following streets and adjacent areas:

  • Emily Lane
  • Marisa Court
  • Hayden Way
  • Highland Street
  • Cannon Street
  • Henderson Street
  • Holland Street
  • Old Albany Road
  • Kelly Street
  • Dixon Street
  • Meadow Street
  • Carroll Street
  • Altman Avenue
  • Payne Street
  • Wall Street
  • Bay Street
  • Luke Street
  • Felix Street
  • Forrest Street
  • Alexander Street
  • McKinley Street
  • Wolf Street
  • Culpepper Street
  • Burns Street
  • Hanna Street
  • Allen Street

“The CHIP Grant that we have received is intended to benefit low and very-low income households with making home repairs,” said Mollie Powell, City of Thomasville Housing and Zoning Administrator. “During the meeting, we will discuss program eligibility, proposed grant activities, approved grant uses, and the application process.”

The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, August 15th beginning at 5:30 pm in the Douglass High School Complex Auditorium, located at 115 Forrest Street.
