The City of Thomasville is thrilled to announce two new events for this upcoming fall, an Autumn Artisan Market and Family Fall Fest and Movie Night. These events promise new experiences for the community. Both hosted at The Ritz Amphitheater in Downtown Thomasville, the Autumn Artisan Market will be held on September 23, 2023, from 11:00AM to 5:00PM, and the Family Fall Fest and Movie Night will be held on October 14, 2023, starting at 5:00PM.
“These events are an exciting addition to our events schedule,” said Nicole Elwell, Special Events Manager. “Similar to our Rose Fest Market held in April, the Autumn Artisan Market will host vendors from around the area to bring the spirit of fall to Thomasville. On the other hand, the Family Fall Fest and Movie Night is sure to be an unforgettable evening with family friendly activities, and a free screening of Casper!”
The Autumn Artisan Market will host vendors selling their handcrafted goods, reflecting the upcoming holiday seasons. The Office of Downtown & Tourism Development is currently accepting vendor applications through August 1, 2023. The application is available on thomasvillega.com.
“If you are a vendor who has fall through Christmas inspired handcrafted, quality products, we are looking to have you participate in this artisan market. Downtown Thomasville is known as a place to find quality items, and we want this event to reflect that level of craftsmanship,” Elwell said.
Family Fall Fest and Movie Night, in October, will be an evening full of family friendly activities including games, a petting zoo, face painting, balloon twisting, and two pumpkin contests, awarding a best decorated pumpkin and best pumpkin carving brought to the event. The evening caps off with a showing of beloved Halloween film, Casper.
“Gather your blankets, lawn chairs, and cozy up to watch the movie at 7:30PM! We will even have food vendors on site with plenty of options perfect for the whole family,” said Elwell.
“We are so pleased to welcome these events to Downtown Thomasville. The two events are going to breathe even more life into Downtown Thomasville during the autumn season,” said Brandy Avery, Main Street Manager.
