Grab your Easter basket and head over to Paradise Park on April 9 from 11 am – 2 pm for the return of the Easter Eggstravaganza . This year, the City of Thomasville has partnered with many local organizations to create a fun afternoon for the entire family.
“The City of Thomasville’s mission statement asks us to partner with the community to build trusting relationships through openness and inclusion,” said Ricky Zambrano, Community Outreach & Recruitment Manager for the City of Thomasville. “Our community outreach efforts are stronger and more impactful when we develop partnerships with like-minded organizations that are committed to serving the community.”
Promoted as being “for the community, by the community,” churches, schools, and other community organizations are working together to provide a day filled with music, food, drinks, face painting, games, bounce houses, and much more.
“Thomasville is fortunate to have an abundance of wonderful community organizations,” stated Zambrano. “This event will showcase the strong partnerships that we’ve created with these community-minded organizations while bringing awareness to their commitment to service, fellowship, and belief in a stronger Thomasville.” Partners include Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Blue Bell Creameries, Central Point Church, Disciples of Jesus Ministries, Thomasville First Baptist Church, Thomasville YMCA, First Presbyterian Church Thomasville, South GA FCA, Thomasville-Thomas County Humane Society, The Salvation Army, Red Road Rescue, Inc, and Trinity Anglican Church.
The Eggstravaganza will also feature an Easter Egg hunt with over 5,000 eggs. “The egg hunt will be divided into separate areas for various age groups, so there will be plenty of fun for all children,” said Zambrano. “Golden eggs filled with special prizes are certain to add some excitement to what we hope will be a great afternoon.”
The event is free, including food and activities, and the community is invited to come have a fun day at Paradise Park. For additional information, please contact Ricky Zambrano at (229) 227-7041.
