Tis the season for an enjoyable day of shopping, music and prizes at the Holiday Open House in Downtown Thomasville! Set to take place Sunday, November 18th from 1:00-5:00 p.m., the Holiday Open House will highlight the downtown shops and restaurants that make Thomasville so pleasantly unforgettable.
“This event is a great opportunity for locals and visitors to begin their holiday shopping and enjoy a beautiful Sunday in Downtown Thomasville,” said April Norton, Director of Main Street and Business Development. “We’re also looking forward to welcoming some musical talent to Downtown, adding to the holiday spirit,” says Norton. Musical groups- such as a glass harp player and a violinist- will be positioned throughout Downtown to entertain guests as they shop and dine.
Main Street will be sponsoring an exciting Downtown Dollars giveaway promotion during the event. For every $20 a shopper spends in-store during the Holiday Open House, customers will receive a ticket to enter into a drawing. Five tickets will be drawn to win a grand prize of $100 in Downtown Dollars gift certificates. Several convenient ticket locations will be set up along the downtown streets. The lucky winners will be announced and notified on Monday, November 19th.
The Holiday Open House is held in conjunction with the Plantation Wildlife Arts Festival. “The Plantation Wildlife Arts Festival brings thousands of visitors to Thomasville each year,” says Bonnie Hayes, City of Thomasville tourism director. “It’s an exciting time of year. Our community embraces the plantation theme and you’ll see this exemplified in window displays, locals dressed for the hunt, and the warmth of hospitality found wherever you’re going. It’s with high-quality events like PWAF who partner with our city and various merchants, that a complete Thomasville experience is created, with wonderful shopping, a wide variety of dining options, and the ability to see more of what our city offers.” The City of Thomasville will provide complimentary trolley rides between the Holiday Open House and the Plantation Wildlife Arts Festival from 1:00-5:00PM.
The Visitors Center (144 E. Jackson Street) will also be open from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. with Downtown Dollars gift certificates and Thomasville themed items for sale. Free parking is available throughout the downtown and public restrooms are available at the Visitors Center.
