Thomasville’s Independence Day fireworks will make their triumphant return to the South Georgia skies on Saturday, July 3rd. This year’s Independence Day event, sponsored by CNSNext, will take place at Remington Park beginning at 9:00 p.m.
According to Madison Eaton, Special Events Coordinator, this year’s event has been redesigned and will focus entirely on the fireworks. “This year’s event is fireworks focused with our resources entirely directed towards a spectacular display that will really light up the sky,” said Eaton. “The community is invited to bring a blanket or folding chair- or simply watch from their vehicles- and enjoy the fireworks display. While this event will not feature food vendors or activities, it is a great opportunity to bring a picnic and enjoy picturesque Remington Park.”
Whether hosting a backyard BBQ or spending the evening dining at one of Thomasville’s many local restaurants, be sure to cap off the day with an evening of fireworks over the Thomasville sky. “Many of our local restaurants will be open and ready to serve the family or just you and that special someone,” said Eaton. “However you spend the day, come join us for what will truly be a special evening of fun, family, friends, and fireworks.”
In the interest of public safety, event attendees are asked to not drive golf carts within Remington Park. Parking will be provided in the two front parking lots. “We ask for all attendees to please use the post-event traffic plan that is available on our website, www.thomasvillega.com, to find the best driving route whether you are attending the event or traveling through Thomasville,” said Eaton. “The fireworks show will be spectacular, so please leave the additional firecrackers and sparklers at home.”
