The City of Thomasville’s 2021 First Friday Sip and Shop series continues on Friday, October 1st. Attendees are invited to sip and shop throughout the downtown event area from 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
“The weather is cooling down and it’s the perfect time to spend a beautiful fall Friday evening in downtown Thomasville,” said Christy Owens, Main Street and Special Events Manager. “These events are a fun way for residents and guests to support the local economy by shopping and dining at locally-owned businesses that are the backbone of our community.”
The event begins at 6:00 p.m., and guests can sip, shop, and enjoy live music throughout beautiful downtown Thomasville. “Our Sip and Shop guests will enjoy live musical entertainment throughout downtown from Jen Anders Music, Keal Franklin, and Jeb Tabb from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.,” said Owens. “Shops and restaurants will have extended hours and adults can stroll with an adult beverage purchased from a participating business.”
Owens said that all City sponsored events continue to follow CDC guidelines for public health as well as Executive Orders from the Governor. “Providing our guests with healthy, safe, and socially distanced entertainment opportunities while supporting our downtown merchants remains a top priority for us,” said Owens. “We encourage those attending the event to practice safe social distancing and good hand hygiene while enjoying their visit. Handwashing stations are located throughout the downtown area and all public restrooms and outdoor seating areas are also regularly sanitized.”
While the event itself may look a little different, Owens said the experience of a First Friday Sip and Shop in downtown Thomasville is still second to none. “These events may be taking place in a modified form without our normal live concert at The Ritz Amphitheater, but we are confident that attendees will enjoy an evening filled with live music from our sidewalk musicians and enjoy the best shopping and dining around.”
