THOMASVILLE FIRE RESCUE SUCCESSFULLY PASSES GFSTC INSPECTION

Thomasville Fire Rescue (TFR) has successfully passed a recent Georgia Firefighter Standards and Training Council (GFSTC) annual inspection. Located in Forsyth, Georgia, the GFSTC provides certification standards for all firefighters, fire inspectors, fire investigators, and fire and life safety educators within the state of Georgia. The inspection revealed that all TFR stations and engines are compliant with the Official Code of Georgia.

GFSTC’s mission is to provide professionally trained, competent, and ethical firefighters with the proper equipment and facilities to ensure a fire-safe environment for all citizens and to establish professional standards for fire service training including consulting, testing, and certification. “We appreciate the detailed inspection and site review administered by the GFCTC,” said TFR Chief Tim Connell. “Our entire TFR team is humbled by the positive review and commendation received from the GFSTC organization. The results are a tribute to the great work done by the men and women of TFR to keep our wonderful community safe.”

Chief Connell said that the GFSTC inspection includes an extensive review of the department's training records and documentation. “The attention to detail, organization, and maintenance of our administrative records played a major role in our successful inspection,” said Connell. “Additionally, the review of our facilities, fire apparatuses, and equipment- including Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) and personal protective clothing equipment- all met and exceeded the minimum standards set forth by the GFSTC.”

“A successful annual inspection is not possible without a committed team effort by our firefighters, administrative team, and command staff to provide our residents with a safe community,” said Chief Connell. “We are grateful for the support and resources that are provided to us by our City leadership and Thomasville City Council. They value the role of public safety in our community and understand that we must constantly evolve our technology in order to serve our residents and protect our firefighters.”
