Faith & Blue Weekend is a national event designed to bring together communities through partnerships with law enforcement and faith-based organizations. These organizations are both recognized as key pillars of the community, and when they work together, neighborhoods can thrive.
In commemoration of this national initiative, the Thomasville Police Department has organized a Unity Walk and Trunk or Treat event on October 7. Corporal Crystal Parker highlights that this occasion is an excellent platform for local faith organizations and public safety teams to come together, ensuring a fun afternoon for the Thomasville community. "This event signifies more than just collaboration; it's about fostering partnerships and cementing ties within the community through enjoyable activities," shared Parker.
The community is invited to this free Thomasville event. Festivities kick off at 10:45 am with the Unity Walk at the intersection of Crawford and Jefferson Streets and concluding at the Thomas County Public Library. The Trunk or Treat event begins at 11 am in the library’s parking lot on Madison Street. Faith-based and public safety organizations are welcome to set up tables or even bring decorated vehicles to join in on the fun during the Trunk or Treat. The Thomasville Salvation Army will also be handing out hot dogs. The event concludes at 2 pm.
If your organization is interested in participating or if you have additional event questions, contact Corporal Crystal Parker via email at crystal.parker@thomasville.org or Major Wade Glover at (229) 227-7078.
