VICTORIAN CHRISTMAS COSTUME CLOSET OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

Posted on

The Victorian Christmas costume closet will be open to the public from Monday, November 28th through Wednesday, December 7th, inside the Thomasville Visitors Center. Hours of operation will be Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

“Victorian Christmas is such a special, memorable event for our community and dressing in Victorian attire helps to add to the magic of the celebration,” said Bonnie Hayes, Director of Tourism Development for the City of Thomasville. “Watching our community embrace this event and participate in costume together attracts visitors to our area that look forward to coming back year after year.”

The Victorian Christmas costume closet features costumes for men and women. Items include hats, bow ties, skirts, vests, dresses, and more. Costumes can be rented for $10/per person plus a $25 deposit. Deposits are returned when costumes are returned with a dry-cleaning receipt and tags. Costumes should be returned by Monday, January 13th, 2023.

“We have a variety of items to choose from, but it’s easy to find items from your own closet to create a great Victorian outfit,” noted Hayes. “A white shirt and black skirt or black pair of pants work perfectly, but our closet is filled with beautiful Victorian dresses and dapper top hats if you’re looking for something extra special to wear.”

Victorian Christmas will be held in Downtown Thomasville on December 8th and 9th from 6:00-9:00 p.m. both nights. For more information, contact the Thomasville Visitors Center at (229) 228-7977.
