CITY CELEBRATES MILESTONE SERVICE AWARDS

During Monday’s Thomasville City Council Meeting, 74 City of Thomasville employees were honored for their years of service to the community. The service awards honored employees who have achieved milestones of five, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40 years of service. As we give our final salute to Mr. Larry Davis and his service to the Good Shepherd Episcopal Church community kitchen, we want to share his answer when asked why he gives his time to help feed others. On Jan. 21, the City of Thomasville received a 2018 Live, Work, Play City Award presented by the Georgia Municipal Association (GMA), in conjunction with Georgia Trend magazine, during GMA’s annual Mayors’ Day conference in Atlanta. The City of Thomasville is pleased to announce Mr. Larry Davis as our second unsung hero in honor of Black History Month. Mr. Davis may not be a familiar name to many, but he has contributed greatly to our community through his work in the community kitchen at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church. CITY OF THOMASVILLE OFFERS TOOLS FOR HIGHER ENERGY USAGE

January 2018 will go down as one of the colder months for Thomasville in recent years. In fact, during the first 22 days of the year, high temperatures were below 60 degrees for 14 days. In comparison, 2017 only saw three days during the same timeframe where the maximum temperature was below 60 degrees.
