CITY OF THOMASVILLE NOW ACCEPTING BUDGET BILLING PLAN APPLICATIONS

Posted on

Utility bills can vary from month to month based on usage, with bills usually being highest during extreme temperatures in the winter and summer. The City of Thomasville’s Budget Billing Plan allows customers to pay a fixed monthly amount for utilities to avoid costly bill fluctuations. The BBP can help customers manage their household utility budgets by averaging annual bills and creating one easy monthly payment the same each month.

To enroll in the Budget Billing Plan, residential utility customers must have a minimum of 12 months of continuous service and be up to date with all utility accounts and payments. The City of Thomasville will begin accepting applications for the BBP on October 1 until October 31. The next opportunity to enroll in the BBP will be April 1, 2025.

“The Budget Billing Plan helps customers minimize the fluctuation in their monthly utility bill when excessive temperatures in the summer and winter impact their monthly usage,” said Mark Parrillo, Managing Director of Customer Service. “By enrolling in BBP, customers pay a similar amount each month based on the average of their previous 12 months of usage.” The Budget Billing Plan runs in 12-month periods. At the end of the program year, the customer’s account is reconciled. Any overpayment or underpayment remaining on the account is settled before the next BBP cycle begins.

“The City of Thomasville is pleased to offer customers many ways to save on their utility bills,” said Parrillo. “From the BBP to the On-Bill Financing Program, free energy checkups, and beyond, we are always striving for ways to help customers budget smarter and spend wiser.”
