The 53rd Annual Professional Municipal Clerks Week is celebrated May 1-7.
In 1984, President Ronald Reagan signed a Proclamation officially declaring Professional Municipal Clerks Week the first full week of May and recognizing the essential role Municipal Clerks play in local government.
The International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC) sponsors Professional Municipal Clerks Week each year. IIMC President Sheri Pierce believes the role of Clerk has a huge impact on the public. “The functions of the Clerk necessitate a thorough knowledge of law procedure, administration and interpersonal relations,” noted Pierce.
