A portion of East Jackson Street will be temporarily closed in order to perform emergency maintenance to an existing water pipe. The westbound lane of East Jackson Street between Love Street and Hansell Street will be closed to thru traffic beginning at 7 p.m. today. During construction, flagmen will be used to assist with traffic flow and maintain safety.
“We understand that temporary road closures are an inconvenience to the traveling public of our community,” said Chris White, Assistant Utilities Superintendent. “However, we feel it is necessary to make these repairs as quickly as possible in order to maintain the safety of this area and to ensure the continued level of service to our water customers. Every effort will be made to complete the repairs as quickly as possible and reopen East Jackson Street later this evening.”
