You will need to have a utility account in place with the City of Thomasville. An Electric Department Engineer will set up a time to meet you onsite and discuss your lighting needs.

Additional Information: The Utilities Department provides security lighting services to property owners where the low voltage distribution lines of the city are within 500 feet. Security lighting services may also be available to tenants in accordance with the terms of the contract period. Security lighting service will be provided only at locations that are accessible to city trucks for servicing purposes. Original locations of lighting fixtures shall be by mutual agreement, and any relocation requested by the owner after installation shall be made at the owner’s expense. Any maintenance work required will be performed by the City as soon as it can be reasonably performed and after notification by the customer that the service has been interrupted. Maintenance will be performed only during regular working hours. The security light contract period is for three years, but contract periods of 5 years are required for certain specialty lights, or in some cases, light poles. In cases involving underground feeds to fixtures, the customer will be required to install conduits per the City of Thomasville’s specifications.
