CUSTOMER ACCOUNTS SPECIALIST I, CNSNEXT

This position coordinates billing functions for all CNSNext member cities. Will perform a variety of tasks, including, issuing invoices, maintaining accounts, and updating financial questions and will handle inquiries regarding CNSNext customer billing.

Candidate should be able to communicate effectively and deal diplomatically with irate persons. Candidate should have knowledge of Excel and Word and have working knowledge of bookkeeping. Experience as a customer service representative is preferred. Should be able to make mathematical computations accurately and with reasonable speed and be able to establish and maintain effective work relationships with the general public and employees.

Salary ranges from $15.91 to $21.09 hourly. Position closes on Monday, December 2nd.


ACCOUNTING TECHNICIAN, FINANCIAL SERVICES

Candidate will provide support to Finance by performing accounts payable assistance and/or technical accounting duties in the review, evaluation, and adjustment of assigned accounts. Candidate will act as the backup for AP when necessary and will assist with monthly accounting tasks. These tasks include recording journal entries, generating general billing invoices, reconciling accounts, and completing reports.

Must have at least 1 year accounting experience and must be able to work in a multi-tasked environment and should be proficient in Word and Excel.

Salary ranges from $16.71 to $22.14 hourly. Position closes on Friday, November 22nd.


TECHNICAL SERVICES TECHNICIAN, TECHNICAL SERVICES

Candidate will install and maintain various services and systems supported by the Technical Services Department. Primary systems include SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), Instrumentation and Control circuits, PLC interfaces, Radio System(s), circuit provisioning (LAN/WAN, metro-Ethernet), telephony services (VOIP and TDM), internal PBX system, and traffic control systems.

Candidate must have fundamental knowledge of electrical theory, electronics and telecommunication architecture. Formal training with certifications or equivalent experience in electronics or telecommunications is preferred.

Salary ranges from $20.31 to $26.91 hourly. Position closes on Friday, November 22nd.


WASTEWATER FOREMAN, WASTEWATER

Supervises the maintenance and repairs of the wastewater distribution system. This job consists of installing new sewer mains and services and reading new construction plans while maintaining existing infrastructure which includes sewer service connections, sewer manholes, sewer outfall lines and sewer lift stations. Provides after-hour sewer related emergency services.

Candidate should be knowledgeable about technical aspects of a municipal wastewater system; should know how to use city works and should have good verbal and written communication skills. Also, should have at least 2 years of related experience.

Salary ranges from $19.34 to $25.63 hourly. Position closes on Friday, November 22nd.


CERTIFIED FIREFIGHTER, FIRE RESCUE

Thomasville Fire Rescue is accepting applications for the position of Certified Firefighter/EMT with the City of Thomasville. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma. Candidates must be professional, customer-focused, and work well within a team environment. Firefighter (NPQ FF1 & 2) required, and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification is preferred.

Starting Salary:

  • Firefighter Trainee (no experience) – $38,317 yearly.
  • Firefighter I (State of Georgia Certified Firefighter) – $40,233 yearly.
  • Additional pay increases are provided for certifications, experience, and overtime.

POLICE OFFICER, POLICE DEPARTMENT

The City of Thomasville is now accepting applications for the position of Police Officer. Georgia certification is preferred, though not required. Applicants must be at least 21 before or by graduation from the academy, possess a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license and able to pass a criminal background and physical fitness assessment test to apply.

This position will perform traditional duties, including, patrolling specific districts by foot or automobile, handling public complaints, arresting violators of the law, responding to accidents, issuing the necessary summons or tickets when appropriate, preparing/compiling reports and maintaining police records. Additionally, Thomasville Police Officers are required to participate in Community Oriented Policing programs that will require extensive interaction with the community.

Starting Salary:

  • Police Officer I (uncertified Police Recruit attending the Georgia Police Academy) – $21.33 hourly or yearly salary of $46,575.
  • Police Officer II (GA Certified Police Officer w/no experience or recruit officer who graduates from the academy and successfully completes Field Training Officer Program) – $22.39 hourly or yearly salary of $48,903.
  • Additional educational incentive pay of $1,500 for Associate’s degree and $3,000 for Bachelor’s degree in related field of work.
  • Additional pay increases for experience and special assignments.

FOREMAN, NATURAL GAS

Supervises and schedules the work of employees engaged in the construction, maintenance and repair of natural gas mains, services, and meter sets. Employee operates heavy excavations and transportation equipment; supervises the installation of new gas services and conversion of natural gas equipment; responds to emergency calls pertaining to natural gas services; communicates with customers, contractors and employees and assists in ordering and purchasing supplies for the gas system. Employee also performs on-call duties after hours as scheduled and assists in troubleshooting Cathodic Protection within the natural gas system and assists in testing and maintenance of the natural gas regulator stations.

Candidate should have experience in reading site plans, blueprints, diagrams, sketches and construction plans; should be certified or the ability to obtain Welding certification; should have a valid Class -A CDL; should be operator qualified as mandated by the State; should have considerable knowledge of natural gas distribution systems, locations and size of mains, valves and meters and should have at least 5 years of related experience.
