The City of Thomasville, in partnership with local organizations, will host a Feeding the Community event on Thursday, May 25 from 11 am – 2 pm to assist anyone in the community in need of a meal.

The City’s Community Outreach Team hosts meal distribution events to build and create partnerships with other organizations while serving the community.

“We have a growing list of community partners joining us to try and make a small difference in our community,” noted Community Outreach and Recruitment Manager Ricky Zambrano. “We all have the same goal in mind to not only work together to provide a free meal but build unity within our community while serving our community.”

The City has partnered with Food Lion; 1915 South | Ashley; Thomasville National Bank; Servpro, and the Lambda Xi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. to host this year’s initial Feeding the Community event. This will be the first of five events scheduled, with other local organizations and businesses coming on board to partner with the City of Thomasville throughout the year. Additional event dates include:

  • Friday, July 28, 11 am - 2 pm (Meal & Kids School Supply Distribution)
  • Friday, September 29, 11 am - 2 pm
  • Friday, November 17, 3 pm - 5 pm (Thanksgiving Dinner & Toiletry Distribution)
  • Thursday, December 21, 3 pm - 5 pm (Christmas Dinner & Blanket Distribution)

The event will take place at 407 North Madison Street in the parking lot between Singletary Tire Pros and Walden’s Flower Shop for walk-up or drive-thru service and will also include a free summer activity distribution for children.
