City of Thomasville Utility Crews will be installing water infrastructures on West Clay Street between Pine Street and Short Street starting Tuesday, November 12, 2024.
To facilitate a safe work environment for the utility crew, West Clay Street between Pine Street and Short Street will be temporarily closed to thru traffic in the work zone starting at 8:00 AM EST on Tuesday, November 12, 2024. The work is expected to last 10 hours. Detour signs will be posted to direct traffic around the work zone. The Calhoun Street underpass will still be accessible as a means of creating an alternative route to avoid delays caused by trains across the West Jackson Street railroad crossing. Travelers in the area are encouraged to select an alternate route or be prepared for some travel delays. Please be patient with the crews while they work.
